The REDARC Manager30 is the Australian alternative to the Victron SmartSolar in the same wattage class. Made in South Australia, designed for Australian conditions, and backed by REDARC's direct Australian customer service and warranty support.
Both are excellent controllers. REDARC's advantage is the Australian support network — if you have a warranty issue in Australia, dealing with REDARC directly is simpler than dealing with a Victron importer. The Manager30 also includes a larger built-in LCD display (vs Victron's status LEDs on the base SmartSolar) that shows more information without needing a Bluetooth connection.
The Manager30 has selectable charge profiles for AGM, GEL, lithium, and flooded lead-acid batteries — selectable via the front panel without software. This simplicity is useful for van builds where you want everything configurable without a smartphone.
